My Story

As a school psychologist for over a decade, I have had the privilege of supporting students, families, and teachers from all walks of life and on two opposite coasts. I started my career in a suburb of Seattle, Washington in 2010 before returning to my hometown of Virginia Beach. When I became a mother in 2013, my perspective dramatically shifted. As someone who thought they knew an awful lot about child development, I am continually humbled by my own experience as a mother to my two children. This new perspective has forced me to look inward at my own intentions and expectations for my family. It has also taught me to be kinder to myself as I navigate this continually changing path.
Most days you can find me drinking entirely too much coffee while I run around town doing the work that I love. While I often thrive on being busy, I also love doing absolutely nothing. Quiet, unstructured time is my preferred brand of self-care. An hour or two with good book, warm-enough coffee, and a cozy space with nothing planned is enough to recharge my battery for days.
I love serving the world by bringing people together and creating community. Sometimes all someone needs is an outside perspective to help guide a parent or teacher though a challenging time. We all need that friendly ear and supportive shoulder now and then. The more we cultivate self-compassion, the greater our capacity for compassion for those we love. I firmly believe that we are all in this together! No one can parent in a vacuum; we need other people in our lives to help us navigate this important and precious time. My intention and greatest hope is to help those who feel disconnected find that connection they need to keep going and be the most confident parent they can be. We can do this!!
